Maple Grove Christian Retreat Centre is located about 20 kilometers from London ON and about the same
distance to Woodstock. We have tried to list some of the attractions that are available in this area to make your stay with
us more enjoyable.
Area Shopping:
Thamesford (only 1-2 kilometers away) has two variety stores, a gas station, Tim Horton's, two Restaurants, a Pharmasave
(only open weekdays), a Royal Bank, recreation centre, a Ford dealer, and an independent mechanic, public Library, a community
pool and playground. Thamesford is within a walkable distance (about a 6 minute walk from the camp to Tim Hortons)
through the Lions River Parkway along the Thames River. This is also a great place for fishing (both above the dam and
below) and quietness.
Ingersoll, about 10 kilometers away has a new large Independent
Grocery store where all your food supplies can be found. Ingersoll also has a a Canadian Tire, Home Hardware and
building supplies.
London is a city of 350,000 people and has all major stores. If you
travel west out of Thamesford directly into London, about a 15 - 20 minute drive, you will find Canadian Tire, Home Depot,
Walmart, Staples, and many other stores. For specific direction to a particular store check with the office by phone or use

Our closest Swiss Chalet is in Woodstock, about a 20 minute
drive to the east, straight down #2 Highway. It is on the main street, about 2 km into the city. Woodstock
also has a number of large malls and most major stores.
Local Churches:
Maple Grove Christian
Retreat Centre holds church services at the camp throughout the summer months at 10:30 AM each Sunday and everyone is invited
to attend. However, for those who wish to attend a church of their own choice, there are numerous churches in the area.
